Terrill Wheeler

 September 8, 1915 ~ January 21, 2000

A memorial service for Terrill Wheeler, 84, of Denton, Texas was held on January 24 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Leroy Garrett and Dr. Gary Mueller officiating.

Mr. Wheeler was born September 8, 1915, the son of Hunter Oscar and Susan Eva Terrill Wheeler in Bartonville, Texas, and died January 21, 2000 at the home of his son, Jim Wheeler, in Denton.

He and Wilma Lou Atkins were married October 31, 1936 in Denton, and she preceded him in death on September 5, 1998.

Mr. Wheeler was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Denton Chamber of Commerce, the Denton Rotary Club, and a charter member of the Denton Elks Lodge. He completed all of his schooling except for the last year of High School in Denton, and graduated from Marietta High School in 1932, while living in Marietta with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Terrill.

In 1950, he purchased one of Denton's oldest printing companies, the McNitzky Printing Co., established in 1908. At that time, the name of the company was changed to Terrill Wheeler Printing. He took an active part in the family business until he retired in 1980, and left the management of the company to his son, Jim.

Survivors include, his son and daughter-in-law, Jim & Jo Ann Wheeler of Denton; a granddaughter, Terri Wheeler of Denton; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Susan & Kraig Springer of Grapevine; two great-granddaughters, Erin and Kelly Springer; a sister, Helen Ocheltree of Denton; and a brother and sister-in-law, Boyd & Virginia Wheeler of Cleburne, Texas. There are also two cousins, Vida Ruth Simmons and Jay Hill, both of Marietta.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton.
