Milford Dean Wheeler

Milford Dean Wheeler
September 8, 1929 ~ October 30, 2024

Milford Dean Wheeler began his life on September 8, 1929, when welcomed by his parents, Hugh Emerson (John) Wheeler and Regina Gindlesberger Wheeler in Alva, Oklahoma. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 30, 2024, at the age of 95.

Milford spent his early years in the Alva area with his family. Milford served the Army National Guard from September of 1948 to June of 1952. During his service he was awarded the Army Occupation Medal, Japan. United Nations Service Medal, and Korean Service Medal with Bronze Campaign Star.

On October 4, 1954, Milford was united in marriage to the love of his life, Rachel Herbst, in Alva. The couple first made their home in Alva later moving to Woodward, Oklahoma. Milford and Rachel were blessed with two children, Debra Sue and Brian Dean. Milford worked for ONG and also as a welder. He enjoyed fishing, camping, photography and mostly his cherished family. Milford had a deep love for his Lord and Savior and the Friends Church.

Milford is preceded in death by his parents, John and Regina Wheeler, and one brother, Emerson Wheeler.

He leaves behind his wife of 70 years, Rachel; a daughter, Debra Sue Foster (of Woodward, Oklahoma), and son, Brian Dean Wheeler (also of Woodward); sister, Barbara Wheeler Hunt (of Alva); two grandchildren, Brandon and Devin and one great-granddaughter, nieces, nephews other relatives and relatives.
