Carolyn Joy Wheeler, age 69, a longtime Atoka resident. On March 12, 1956, identical twin girls were born in Oklahoma City, OK to Ralph Ray Bomesburger and Jewell Loretta Armstrong. The twins were later adopted by Richard Lynn Garton who married Jewell in 1958.
Carolyn passed away on July 12, 2025 at her home in Atoka, OK. She graduated from Atoka High School in 1974 and went on to attend OCC for two years. Carolyn was a business owner for cleaning services. She worked at Tinker Air Force Base as a computer tech, and Allen Lumber. She married Larry D. Weaver Sr., on May 1, 1976 in Atoka and later married William Kenneth Wheeler on August 28, 1998 in Atoka, OK. Carolyn was a member of South Atoka Church of Christ. She volunteered setting with the seniors at the nursing homes and made them gift sacks and also for others. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Larry Weaver Jr. and wife Heidi of Choctaw, OK, Ashley Allen Weaver and wife Julie of Choctaw, OK, Audra Lynn Silvers of Coalgate, OK, Charlotte Joy Giles and Cove, AR, Jonathan Joseph Wheeler of Tulsa, OK; along with 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Lynn and Jewell
Loretta (Armstrong) Garton; baby sister, Bomesburger; sister, Marilyn
Phillips; grandparents, Verlie and Otah Armstrong, Ted and Margaret Garton,
Alma and Joe Bomesburger.
