Evelyn Sue "Susie" (Courtney) Whatley
October 17, 1954 ~ July 23, 2020

Evelyn Sue Whatley, of Pauls Valley, passed away July 23, 2020 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma at the age of 65 years.

"Susie", as she was known. was born October 17, 1954 in Oakland, California, but grew up in Moore, Oklahoma. She attended Moore Schools and graduated from the Moore High School. She worked for The Daily Oklahoma Newspaper for nearly 30 years and later retired from there. Pauls Valley has been her home for the past 6 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Cecil Courtney, and Fannie (Fabian) Winters, and her husband, Owen Neill Whatley.

Susie's surviving family include children, Shannon and Jerry Dunn of Pauls Valley; Shawn and Jennifer Whatley of Paoli; Brent and Gillian Whatley of Edmond; and Rodney and Aimee Butler of Wynnewood; grandchildren, JT, Elexis, and Alyssa Dunn, Kristopher Butler, Blake, Phoebe, Noah, Blake, Merci, and Riley Whatley; a sister, Florinda Courtney; step brothers Mark Harman and James Harman.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at 10:30 am at Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Services for cremation are under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
