Crystal Sue "Chris" Whatley
January 2, 1957 ~ May 4, 2017

Crystal Sue "Chris" Whatley, 60 year old Woodward resident, died Thursday, May 4, 2017 in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. A private family burial will be held at a later date. 

Crystal Sue Whatley was born on January 2, 1957 in San Jose, California to James Vernon and Doris Fay (Miles) Whatley. Before Chris was five years of age the family left California and moved back to Alabama to be near family. When she was eight years of age she moved to Crete, Illinois to live with her Grandma. She attended school in Illinois, Alabama, and Great Bend, Kansas. In 1980, Chris moved to Woodward to be near her mom, she has lived there since that time. 

Chris worked at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home, the Mooreland Nursing Home, and for Henry Hosier at the Sleepy Hollow Motel for seven years. She worked for Wal-Mart for a period of time before her retirement. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with all of them.

She is survived by her mom Fay Tune of Woodward; sister, Pamela Brown and husband Larry of Haughton, Louisiana; nephews, Joseph Lee Richards Jr. and wife Stephanie, James Hardy Richards and wife Kim, Lewis C. Richards and wife Jessica; numerous great nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her biological father, James Vernon Whatley, her step-father, William Tune, Jr., grandparents, James Cecil and Lois Ann Stanley, and one sister Vicki Tune.
