Lucy Kay (Nichols) Whaling

November 17, 195 ~ February 15, 2013

Lucy Kay Whaling, 60, resident of rural Bartlesville, died Friday February 15, 2013.

Memorial services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday, March 10, 2013 in the Osage Hills State Park stone pavilion. Cremation arrangements were directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

Lucy Kay Whaling was born November 17, 1952 at Neodesha, Kansas to Jeremiah and Violet Geneva (Alford) Nichols. She was raised and received her education in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Mrs. Whaling graduated from College High School in Bartlesville in 1971. She attended Bartlesville Secretarial School and was employed at AAA Bookkeeping. Mrs. Whaling was married to Nicholas Lee Whaling on March 3, 1976 in Bartlesville, and they have made their home in rural Bartlesville for many years.

Survivors include her husband Nichols Lee Whaling of the family home in rural Bartlesville; one son Nicholas Paul Whaling; four daughters Theresa Canoy, Lisa Whaling, Angie Whaling and Krystle Whaling all of Bartlesville; two brothers Jeremiah Nichols Jr. and Everett Nichols of Bartlesville; five sisters Rose Phillips of Bartlesville, Grace Placencia of Dewey, Donna Martin of Mustang, Oklahoma, Irene Doggett of Dewey and Margie Lewis of Bartlesville and fifteen grandchildren. Mrs. Whaling was preceded in death by her parents and step-father Harvey Richard Stokesberry.
