Sandra Ann “Sandy” (Estabrook) Wetherington
September 23, 1955 ~ August 22, 2024

A Memorial Service for Sandra Ann “Sandy” Wetherington, age 68, of Enid, will be 3:00 pm, Friday, September 6, 2024, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jim Edmison officiating. Cremation and services are under the care of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.

Sandra was born in Augusta, Maine on September 23, 1955 to Bill and Maxine (Fogg) Estabrook, and passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024 in Enid.

Sandra attended Winthrop High School in Winthrop, Maine, graduating with the class of 1974.

She married her high school sweetheart, Craig Allen Wetherington, on May 3, 1975, in Readfield, Maine. Sandra and Craig spent the next 18 years in the United States Air Force, living in Maine, Colorado, England, and California. In each of these places, she made lifelong friends, some of whom she spoke with daily until her passing. After Craig retired from the Air Force, they moved to Navasota, Texas, where she worked for Schult Mobile Homes. They bought their first house and both kids finished high school while there.

Once the nest was empty, they began traveling for Craig’s work. They lived in several places during that time, including Wolfforth, Texas and Waterbury, Connecticut. They finally settled down again in Enid, Oklahoma when Craig accepted a job working at Vance Air Force Base. Sandra made even more wonderful friends in Enid, and when Craig died in 2013, those friends became more important than ever.

She is survived by her sons, Paul Allen Wetherington and wife Cindy, of Sachse, TX; Kevin Michael Wetherington and wife Elizabeth, of Richardson, TX; ten grandchildren; Michael, Samantha, Allen, Hannah, Kayla, Krystine, Connor, William, Julian, and Grace; three siblings; sister Ellen, and husband Gilbret, of Hendersonville, NC; George Estabrook and wife Cindy, of Winthrop, ME; Kenny Estabrook and wife Cindy, of Gardiner, ME; and sister-in-law Ida Estabrook, of Winthrop, ME.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Marvard William Estabrook and Maxine Evelyn (Fogg) Estabrook; stepmothers, Thelma Louise Diamond, and Edna Davis.
