John E. "Jack" Weston
June 7, 1933 - May 11, 2022

A Memorial Service for John E. "Jack" Weston, 88, of Enid, OK, will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2022, at the Golden Oaks Village chapel. Rev. Don Johnson, Brian Meyer and Robin McAdow will officiate. Cremation and funeral arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

Jack was born June 7, 1933, in Scranton, PA, and passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Golden Oaks Village.

Jack married Ruth K. (Dickie) Gilbertson on August 26, 1976. They resided in Mankato, MN, Falls Church, VA, and then Lake Pomme de Terre, MO, before moving to Golden Oaks Village in Enid, OK, in November, 2009. Jack was a 1955 graduate of Phillips University, and he and Ruth were active members of Central Christian Church.

The highest calling of Jack's life was his ministry. He served as pastor at several churches around the country, and after his retirement he still made himself available to minister to whoever needed him. Jack loved trains and was an avid collector for his entire life. Jack also loved spending time in the yard and was proud of having the greenest lawn in the neighborhood. In his retirement, he and Ruth cherished the many years they spent on the lake with friends, family and grandchildren and the memories they created. Always smiling and never complaining, Jack continued to display the strength of his faith throughout his life and into his last days. He was surrounded by his loving family and a wonderful staff of caregivers who enabled him to pass peacefully to his eternal home to be reunited with his beloved wife.

Jack is survived by his son, David Weston, St. Petersburg, FL; son Curt (Jan) Gilbertson, Enid, OK; son Tom (Karla) Gilbertson, Mayer, AZ; daughter Amy Bramer, Sidney, NE; brother Robert (Jean) Weston, New Egypt, NJ; brother Robert (Marie) Fisch, Scranton, PA; sister Sandra (Bill) Ace, Scranton, PA; Grandchildren Kayla Klingenberg, Matt Gilbertson, Trey Gilbertson, Tucker Gilbertson, Amber Lindsey, Brendon Lindsey, and John Bramer; Great-Grandchildren: Ella, Abigale, Sawyer and Mason.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; his parents Donald and Evelyn Weston; son Ron Weston; and brother Don Weston.

Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church, Enid, OK, or Hospice Circle of Love, Enid, OK. Condolences may be made online at www.andersonburris.com.
