Westlund, Christopher Arthur, 56, of Choctaw, OK died June 6, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on Feb. 13, 1958 in Duluth, MN. He was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa. He loved the Lord, and loved spending time with his family.
Chris was an avid outdoorsman, and had many hobbies including gardening, hunting, fishing, camping and hiking. He enjoyed windsurfing and making wine. He has even tried beekeeping and taxidermy. He made many memories taking cross-country road trips with his family. He obtained his civil engineering degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2002, and successfully passed his professional engineering test to obtain his PE license. He had a successful career as a professional engineer at ODOT. He was a hard-working, trustworthy, and honest man. Chris will be missed by all.
He is survived by his parents Bob & Jan Westlund of Enumclaw, WA, five siblings and their spouses, Nickie, Mike and Debi, Marty and Stephanie, Laurie and Steve, and John, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his wife Diane, their four children, Michael & Leslie Westlund of OKC, Melissa & Jacob Matherly of Choctaw, Angela & Joe Nirenberg of Rhode Island, and Katelyn & Josh Durant of Nicoma Park along with seven grandchildren Brennon, Ben, Andrew, Tinden, Courtney, Josslyn, and Rylee.
A memorial service will be held on Sat, June 14th at 4:00 at Choctaw Church of Christ.
