John B. Westerheide

John B. Westerheide
July 21, 1953 ~ March 26, 2019

John B. Westerheide age 65 of Lexington, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019 with his family by his side at Norman Health Plex. John was born, July 21, 1953 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was the 5th child of six children born to William Joseph Westerheide and Lucy Kathleen (Cox) Westerheide. John grew up in Midwest City and graduated from MWC High School with the class of 1972. He later attended one year of college at OSU before going to work fulltime.

John married the love of his life, Carol Cole on June 28, 1997, and between the two they had five children.

John worked most of his life as a professional painter at O.U. for 22 years. He later worked as a metal fabricator for Barrett Trailers for five years. He then retired and together he and Carol ran a home daycare for 13 years east of Lexington. He was an avid OSU and OU sports fan. He was a John Wayne book and movie buff. Most of all John loved his family and enjoyed making memories with his grandkids.

He was preceded in death by:

Parents, Bill and Lucy Westerheide,

Sister, Kathleen Moran.

 

He is survived by:

Wife, Carol of the home,

Children, Roy Johnson and wife Jessie of Lexington,

Chrystal Johnson and Tyler Buchanan of Lexington,

Randy Johnson of Chickasha,

Trisha Johnson of Lexington and Earl Coslow of Purcell.

Berry Hildreth of Noble.

18 grandchildren, two great grandchildren.

Four siblings, Joe Westernheide and wife Juliana of OKC,

Chuck Westerheide and wife Sarah of Edmond,

Nancy Edwards of Austin, TX,

Steve Westerheide and wife Pam of Dallas,

A brother-in-law, Jim Moran of OKC,

Also many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
