Virginia Lee (Sturdivan) Wester

July 19, 1939 ~ July 8, 2004

Virginia Lee Wester, 64, of Amarillo died Thursday July 8, 2004.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 17, 2004, in First Christian Church in Guymon, Okla., with Terry Neel, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Virginia Lee Sturdivan was born July 19, 1939, in Guymon to the late Cleo and Decla Sturdivan. She graduated from Guymon High School in 1957 and attended Phillips University in Enid, Okla. She then lived in Wichita, Kan., and Tulsa, Okla., until her return to Guymon in 1965. She spent most of her career at City National Bank and Trust in Guymon, where she was vice president of the trust department at the time of her retirement. She married Cleatus Leon Wester in 1977, and they lived in Guymon until after retirement, when they moved to Angel Fire, N.M., in 1996. In 2002, the Westers moved to Amarillo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert; and a sister, Linda.

Survivors include her husband; six children, Heather Voran and husband, Doug, and Evan Harney, all of Amarillo, Thyra Grounds and husband, Larry, and Jerry Wester, all of Guymon, Sherri Brown and husband, Danny, of Wichita Falls and Leon Wester and wife, Ronda, of Enid; a brother, Ron; 11 grandchildren, Alisa, Jerremy Ross, Kara, Jeremy, Jared, David, Josh, Brooke, Braci, Berkeley and Brynne; a great-grandson, Dawsen; and many nieces and nephews who adored their "Aunt Jen."

The family suggests memorials be made to the Harrington Cancer Center, 1500 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79105.
