Luana (Ethridge) West
February 25, 1945 ~ September 30, 2023

Kingston, OK- Luana was born Sunday, February 25, 1945 in Longview, Texas to Wiley Daniel Ethridge and Intha Ophelia (Hamberlin) Ethridge. She passed from this life on Saturday, September 30, 2023 in her home at the age of 78.

Luana was a native Texan and grew up in Mississippi. She attended Brandon High School in Brandon, Mississippi, and Hinds Jr. College in Raymond, Mississippi. Luana married her soul mate and sweetheart, William L. West on October 23, 1971 in Pearl, Mississippi. They had lived in Alaska, Louisiana, Texas, and Oklahoma. Luana worked as a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed gardening, sewing, and cooking. She worked as a phlebotomist for several years while living in Tulsa. Luana and William are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They came to Kingston in January 2014 from Wasilla, Alaska.

Luana was preceded in death by her mother, Toni Whaley; and a brother, Don Ethridge.

She is survived by her husband, William L. West of Kingston; daughter, Heather West of Layton, UT; son, William C. West and his wife, Desiree of Broken Arrow, OK; daughter, Vanessa Wyatt of Carrollton, TX; son, Carl West and his wife, Shannon of Allen, TX; and son, John Douglas West of Kingston; and 15 grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 7, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Durant. Bishop Chalk Simon will be the officiant.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be mailed to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints-General Offerings Fund 515 Sunny Meadows Drive Durant, OK 74701.
