John Edward West was born on March 7, 1943. He left to be with the Lord on May 11, 2023.
He graduated from Shawnee high school in 1962.
John entered the United States Army in October 1962 and served until October 1965.
He worked for tinker for 34 years as a sheet metal mechanic.
He is survived by his wife, Carol West of the home; his 3 sons, Donald and Anthony West of Earlsboro and Adam West of Lexington; his 2 daughters, Elena Philbrick of Grove, OK and Laverne Turner of Antelope, California; John is also survived by his 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Orville West of Kansas and George West of Meeker, OK; and other extended family and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Listeen and Edith West; his 2 brothers, Leon and Carl West.
John’s favorite activities in life included fishing, gardening, and woodworking. He always loved to joke around and be silly. He loved watching the hummingbirds and feeding the other birds every year. He was loved and adored by so many people.
Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 2, 2023 at C with Reverend Doyle Long, Seminole First Assembly officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
