George V. West

July 2, 1928 ~ February 25, 2000

George V. West, 71, died Friday, February 25, 2000, at Hospice in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Services were February 29, 2000, at the First Baptist Church in Burkburnett, Texas with Dr. Tim Russell, pastor, officiating.

Burial was in Burkburnett Cemetery under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett.

Mr. West was born July 2, 1928, in Ringwood, Oklahoma.

He married Orma Scrivner on July 23, 1950.

He was a rehabilitation teacher for the blind for the State of Texas.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge in Palo Duro, Texas and Amarillo, Texas and a longtime resident of Burkburnett.

Survivors include his wife, Orma Scrivner West; daughter, Beverly and son-in-law Van Parton of Burkburnett; son, James West and fiance Trudy Davis of Burkburnett; grandson and wife, Jeff and Shannon Parton of Alabama; great grandchildren, Kyle, Chandler and Megan Parton of Alabama; brother and wife, Frances and Melinda West of Las Cruces, New Mexico; sister and husband, Louis and Loren Coulter of Garden City, Kansas; sister-in-law, Annabelle West of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Antone Zeleny of Oregon; dear friend, Carolyn Wood of Burkburnett; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, Texas.
