Gary West of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this life on November 8, 2022, at the age 58. He was born on January 5, 1964 in Coalgate, Oklahoma to James William and Mary Ellen (Bunch) West.
Gary was a truck driver. He spent 40 years on the road driving. This was something he was very proud of. He loved watching football. The Buffalo Bills were his favorite team. He enjoyed fishing and going to the casino as well. He loved time spent playing with his grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory are his life partner Brenda Walker of Durant, Oklahoma, his daughter Brianna Cogburn and husband Dustin of Durant, Oklahoma, brothers Ronnie West, Jerry West, and James West all of Durant, Oklahoma, and his sisters Maryann Kelsay and Shirley Barnes both of Durant, Oklahoma. His legacy lives on with his grandchildren Eowyn Cogburn and Oliver Cogburn of Durant, Oklahoma. Gary is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and cousins, as well as a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents James and Mary West, and his brother Ricky West.
Family hour is scheduled from 7:00 to 8:00 on Monday, November 14, 2022, at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home. A funeral service is set for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2022 in the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Chapel with Reverend Jeremy Parham officiating. Gary will be laid to rest at the Cherry Mound Cemetery in Denison, Texas following the funeral service.
Those serving as pallbearers are Ronnie Bledsoe, Dustin West, Steven West, Aaron West, Joseph Kelsay, and Jamie Kelsay.
