Delbert Eugene West was born January 22, 1945 in Mooreland, Oklahoma. He was the son of Harry and Imogene (Shaw) West. He departed this life August 15, 2020 at the age of 75 years, 7 months and 24 days.
After graduating from Mooreland High School, he attended Okmulgee Technical School where he would graduate with his Associates Degree in Diesel Mechanics. On April 15, 1966 Delbert West and Shirley Cordell were united in marriage.
He retired from Halliburton and then began working at Mid America Stockyard where he was currently employed. Delbert enjoyed being outdoors, tending to his Texas longhorns, riding his tractor and going fishing. He also loved spending time with his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley West; three children, Billie Bryan and husband Acie, Scott West and Lance West and wife Martha; seven siblings, Leo Howery, Luanna Wilkening, Janice Howery, Belinda Calderon, Charles Howery, Ritchie Howery and Shelli Brennan; Four grandchildren, Caitlin Bryan, Joshua Bryan, Evelyn West and Vivien West; one great grandson, Logan Norris. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Logan Bryan.
Memorial services are scheduled for 10:30am, Thursday, August 20, 2020 at the Bristow First Baptist Church with Reverend D.J. Carney officiating.
