Karl F. Werner, 74, died March 7, 2018.

He was born at Kingman on May 2, 1943, the son of Clem and Bernadine (Govert) Werner.

A lifetime resident of Kingman County with the exception of a year and a half spent in Tribune, Kansas, following his marriage to Donna Bridgeman on April 27, 1963. At the time of his death he was still living in the same section of ground where he was born, raised and lived as a farmer and stockman.

He served on the USD #332 board for twenty-two years and received a district wide Hall of Fame award for his service to the district in May of 2017. He was a member of the Lions Club, Soil Conservation, Kingman County Young Farmers and also served as a 4-H leader.

Karl is survived by his wife Donna; two daughters and their husbands, Karla and Jerry Westerman and Karen and Wayne Tommer; son-in-law Mike Gillen; grandchildren and their spouses, Kayla Westerman, Jace and Kala Westerman, Joanna and Chuck Cooper, Ross Gillen, Hayden Tommer, Kerstin Tommer; and one great-grandchild Paisley Westerman; a sister and her husband Darlene and Phil Elwood; and a brother and his wife Ron and Lynette Werner. He was preceded in death by daughter Janene Gillen; and his parents.

There will be no services as cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends for an informal time of remembrance of his life will be March 17, 2018, at the Kingman Expo Center (North Room) from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A private family committal service will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Zenda at a later time. 

Memorials may be made with the Kingman Hospital Oncology Department and Victory in the Valley both in care of Livingston Funeral Home, 1830 N. Main, Kingman, KS 67068.
