Donald Lee Wentworth, a lifetime resident of Enid, OK, was called home to be with the Lord on September 22, 2023. Born on March 18th, 1935, to Milton & Wilma Wentworth, Don’s life tells a story of dedication, loyalty, and love.
At 18, Don began working at Enid Typewriter Company, starting humbly by sweeping the floors. His dedication saw him rise through the ranks, culminating in his esteemed position as a partner 47 years later. Even after years of service, he never forgot his humble beginnings and could often be seen sweeping the floors, reminiscent of the early days.
On February 5th, 1956, Don married LaVonda Brewer at Davis Park Church. Their enduring love, spanning 67 years, was a testament to unwavering commitment and devotion. During their marriage, they were fortunate to have shared many travels throughout Europe & Japan, with Italy holding a special place in their hearts.
A man of diverse interests, Don took pleasure in fishing, hunting, golfing, and gardening. He was a member of Noon Ambus for 50 years and was an active member of the Central Christian Church.
Don was known for his quick wit, self-deprecating sense of humor, and big heart. He loved God, deeply respected his country, and cherished his family above all else. Don frequently remarked, “I’ve been blessed with a great family and a good life.”
He is survived by his wife, LaVonda; son Randy and his wife Kelli and their son Zak of Durango, Colo., son Jerry and his wife Carol of Tuttle; their son Tanner and his wife Kylee; their sons Beau and Boone of Yukon Grandaughter Carli and her husband JB of Honolulu, HI; Nephew David Ca.
Don was proceeded in death by his parents Milton & Wilma and brother Bob.
Services will be held at Central Christian Church, 1111 W. Broadway Ave, Tuesday September 26th at 11:00 am. with arrangements by Anderson Burris Funeral Home.
