January 28, 1932 ~ June 24, 2022

Joe Allen Wensler, 90, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, left this life on June 24, 2022, in Winfield, KS. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 1505 E Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK. on Saturday, July 9th at 11:30 am. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK 74601.

Joe was born on January 28, 1932, in Oklahoma City, OK to Emmitt Arthur and Lizzie (Perry) Wensler. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. He was a loving father, grandpa, brother and friend. He was a member of the VFW. Joe was also known as "Carpenter Joe" he built many items for his children, family and friends of the different communities in which he resided. He enjoyed collecting knives, coins, glassware among many other collectibles. He enjoyed playing cards, working on puzzles, and beating anyone in a game of dominos, or in a pool tournament, he was definitely competitive. Lately he loved to bowl on the Wii.

Joe is survived by his children, Terri Fryback and (John) Ponca City, OK., Jerri Young and (Kevin) Tribune, KS., John Wensler (Connie, fiancé) of Ponca City, OK., Todd Wensler and (Wendy) of Ponca City, OK.; adopted sons, Craig Wensler and (Misty) of Stillwater, OK., Jeff Wensler and (Janelle) of Stillwater, OK., surrogate children, Rafael Maggio and John Harding, and others that called him dad or "papa Joe"; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Rosie of Wichita, KS, and Kay Latta and (Jack) of Hot Springs Village, AR., many loving nieces, nephews, family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Eva Harrell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ponca City Senior Center, 319 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK. 74601 or Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 445 Fairview Ave., Ponca City, Ok. 74601
