Greg Wells passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2014 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2014 in the Walker-Brown Chapel with Chaplain Roger Sheppard officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home.
Greg was born March 2, 1956 in Hobbs, NM to Chester and Vivian (McCullough) Wells. Greg grew up in Antlers, OK and graduated from Antlers High School in 1974. He attended Southeastern State University in Durant, OK and was a member of Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity. He sold insurance for Mutual of Omaha while in college and had retail businesses in both Antlers and Bartlesville during his lifetime. Greg took great pride in taking care of his customers and they speak warmly of him.
Greg was a good friend to many, never met a stranger and always helping others in need. He loved to hunt and fish from an early age and especially loved spending time with all of his grandchildren and family. Greg had a sense of humor that will be fondly remembered for the character he was.
Greg is preceded in death by both his parents and grandparents.
Greg is survived by his beloved aunt, Joy Clark of Antlers who was thought of as a mother; his wife of 16 years Jo Wells (Taylor), son Sean Wells and wife Sarah and grandchildren Grace, Jack and Christian of Bartlesville, daughter Melissa Rivas (Wells) and husband Shane Rivas and grandchildren Kyler, Coen and Maylie of Norman, step-daughter Landi Blosser (Coast) and husband Scott; grandchildren Taylor, Ciara, Preslea, Callie and Cash of Sapulpa; sister Deborah Holland (Wells) of Norman, nephews Jeremy and Zachary of Tulsa, brother Ronnie Wells and wife Debby, nephews Kolby, Cody, and niece Haley from Florida; mother-in-law Georgia Taylor; sister-in-law Rhonda and Kent Tibbets and Children; brother-in-law Kevin and Kim Taylor and Children.
The family suggest memorial contributions be sent to a charity of your choice.
Greg and family extend special thanks to Dr. Zeiders and wife Robin of Bartlesville and to Dr. Manus and staff at Jane Phillips Medical Center.
