Donald L. "Donnie" Weldon
March 2, 1936 ~ March 28, 2020

Donnie L. Weldon, age 84, of Enid, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2020, in Enid. In order to protect the health and safety of our family and friends, a memorial service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Donnie was born March 2, 1936, to Gene and Juanita (Williford) Weldon in Douglas, Okla. He graduated from Enid High School with the class of 1955 where he played all sports. He was an outstanding athlete all of his life, earning a football scholarship to Tonkawa Junior College. He married Kay Kaufman in Enid, Okla., where they raised their only daughter, Suzanne.

He worked for Rock Island Railroad as a switchman retiring after more than 20 years. He later worked for Acme Mudd as a salesman during the oil boom.

Donnie was preceded in death by his lovely wife of 32 years, Kay; his parents, Gene and Juanita Weldon; two brothers, Bill and Jerry Weldon; son-in-law, Stan McCreary; and his beloved dog, Rocco.

He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne McCreary, of Enid; three grandchildren, Taylor McCreary, of Dallas; Joel McCreary, of Enid; Melanie Sommers and husband Kevin, of Oklahoma City; great-grandson, Jackson McCreary; sister-in-law Margy Weldon, of Enid; his good friend, Shirley Davis; as well as his nieces, a nephew and other family and friends.
