Velma Jean "Susie" Welch

Velma Jean "Susie" Welch
August 8, 1950 ~ January 25, 2020

Velma Jean “Susie” Welch passed from this life Saturday, January 25, 2020, in Oklahoma City surrounded by her loving family. In recent years Susie was a resident of rural Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma near Earlsboro where she enjoyed the outdoors, bright sunshine and the stars at night. She was born August 8, 1950, in Ponca City to Clarence and Edith (Bench) Welch.

Always sharing her contagious smile, Susie’s greatest love was her family and friends. She attended Red Rock Schools, graduating high school in 1968 where she played basketball, going on to play at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa. She studied at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff and Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva. As a Recreational Therapist in the health industry, Susie was always helping others - once her friend, forever her friend.

Her parents, brother Jimmie and sister Minnie Lee preceded her in death. She is survived by a brother, Don and wife Kathy of Burleson, Texas, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family as well as many, many special friends.

A Celebration of Life will be 1:00PM Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Dighton Marler Funeral Home Chapel of Perry.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to the memorial of your choice via Dighton Marler Funeral Home of Perry.

Condolences may be sent to the family via www.dightonmarler.com
