Patricia Ann (McAlester) Welborn, age 81, passed away on June 6, 2024, with her family by her side. Patricia was born on May 13, 1943, in Walla Walla, Washington to Cecil and Orine McAlester. She attended Mead and Durant public schools. She worked as a physical therapy technician for over 20 years. Patricia married Jackie R. Welborn, and they had 66 wonderful years together. She was of the Baptist faith. Patricia enjoyed fishing, crafts, drinking coffee on her back porch, and bird watching in the mornings. She especially loved family reunions and time with her family and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her father Cecil McAlester, Mother Orine (Eggleston) Marshall, and her siblings Harlod McAlester and Phylis McAlester.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband Jackie Welborn of the home. Her daughter Tressa Large and spouse Tracy Maddox of Durant. Sons Jackie Dean Welborn and wife Kelly of Durant, Michael Welborn of Durant, and Robert Welborn of Durant. Her sister Glenda Mayhew of Denison Texas. Grandchildren Christopher Welborn of Mead, Checole Large of Durant, Aspen Welborn of Albuquerque, NM, Robert Welborn of Albuquerque, NM, and Triston Sexton of Calera. She also leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A celebration of Patricia’s life is scheduled for Wednesday, June 12th, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel with Chaplain Don Fentem to officiate. Services are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service of Durant. Online condolences can be made at www.brownsfuneralservice.com
