Dorothy Lee (DeWitt) Weesner

 Memorial services for Dorothy Lee Weesner, 82, of Ada are 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Central Church of Christ, Bud Ross will officiate.

Mrs. Weesner died Sunday, May 7, 2017 at a local assisted living center. She was born December 15, 1934 in Colorado Springs, CO to Clive and Edna Irene DeWitt. 

She married Elden Russell Weesner on August 14, 1955 in Colorado Springs, CO. Mrs. Weesner graduated from the UCLA School of Nursing and was employed by Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO, St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, and then became a Medical Missionary for 42 years in India.  She and her husband moved to India in 1969 where they founded Hope Rehabilitation Center, a school for handicapped children.  She also had a ministry of bible studies for women leading many to our Lord.  She created a high protein drink, made from the local lentils and peanuts, that greatly improved the children's health at the school. She and Elden retired, returning back to the United Stated in 2010.  Mrs. Weesner was a member of the Central Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Elden of the home; two daughters, Ruth Weesner of Ada, and Nanette Tulloss and husband Mark of Colo. Springs, CO; one son, Jonathan Weenser and wife Shawna of Endicott, NY; five grandchildren, Jonathan Weeser of Tulsa, Aaron Weesner of Tulsa, Amanda Hurt and husband Timothy of Moore, Tessea Tulloss of Monument, CO, and Trentin Tulloss of Ft. Collins, CO; one great-grandson, Kaden Hurt of Moore, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; eleven siblings; one son, Russell and a grandson, Tate Tulloss.
