Franklin "Frank" Eugene Webster of Blackwell, Oklahoma, died Monday afternoon, May 21, 2012, at his home in Blackwell at the age of 74 years.
Franklin "Frank" Eugene Webster was born on February 18, 1938, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Wendell Eugene and Ola Marcelle (Healan) Webster. He grew up in Deer Creek attending Deer Creek Public Schools and graduated in 1956. He entered the Oklahoma National Guard on February 22, 1956 and served until February 21, 1964. While serving in the National Guard he also worked as a lineman for Kay Electric Cooperative. He married Barbara Mae Reed on January 18, 1958, in Newkirk and they settled in Deer Creek for a short time before moving to Blackwell to make their home. He continued to work for Kay Electric until the mid 1960's when he formed Webster Electric. He owned and operated the business until the 1980's. He later began working in the maintenance department for Conoco in Ponca City and worked there until his retirement in the late 1990's. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church and the Elk's Lodge in Blackwell. He enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and playing various card games with his buddies.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Webster of Blackwell; a daughter, Tonja Webster of Blackwell; two sons, Frank E. Webster Jr. and wife Debbie of Lebanon, Missouri, and Larry Webster and wife Rhonda of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Connie Lou White of Enid, Oklahoma, and Candy Skaggs and husband Larry of Nash, Oklahoma; two brothers, Ron Webster and wife Linda of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Charles Webster of Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren, Tara Jones, Lisa Williams and husband Byran, Masie Peetoom and husband Travis, Andrea Dalimonte and husband Thomas, Tanner Cordell, Cristal Parkinson, Derek Parkinson and wife Liz, Kyle Webster and Tyler Webster; and seven great grandchildren, Kiera Ainsworth, Kendall Jones, Kailee Peetoom, Kenzee Peetoom, Trey Peetoom, Grace Dalimonte and Alivia Williams.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gary Webster; a sister, Nancy Webster; and two brothers, John and Danny Webster.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m, Thursday, May 24th in the First Free Will Baptist Church in Blackwell with the Rev. Kevin Bookout officiating.
Honorary casketbearers will be Andy Weant, Nelson Sennett, Bob Askern, Jim Wingerd, John Campbell, Melvin Clonts, Robert Wright and Larry Skaggs.
A memorial has been established in his honor with First Free Will Baptist Church for missions work in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
