The Memorial Service Celebrating and Honoring the life of Nina Weber, 74, of Enid, formerly of Okeene, are pending. Condolences may be made to the family online at WWW.EnidCremation.com
Nina Jean Weber was born June 24, 1946 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, her family moved several times during her childhood eventually settling in Okeene, Oklahoma. After Nina graduated high school, she went to college at Southwestern Oklahoma State university where she majored in elementary education. While in college she decided to expand and challenge herself, so she enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Before beginning basic training, Nina worked part time at the Campus Corner Diner where she met a handsome bachelor named Danny Oneal Weber. Danny and Nina dated while she was in Okeene and continued to correspond while Nina was in basic training in Maryland. When Nina was transferred to Corpus Christi, Texas Danny began to visit her regularly. It was in Corpus Christi where they were united in marriage November 19, 1969.
Nina was honorably discharged in the summer of 1970 after she discovered she was pregnant. Nina and Danny moved back to Okeene where their daughter Wendy was born in March of 1971. Nina and Danny farmed and cared for Danny’s father Willie until he passed in 1977. It was not long after when Nina began her extensive career in health care. She worked as a Medication Administration Technician in a nursing home in Okeene until her husband became ill and was diagnosed with cancer. Nina cared for her husband Danny until he passed form this earth November 15, 2002. Not long after his passing Nina began working at the Okeene Hospital where she touched many lives and made several close friends. Nina Enjoyed working for 15 years at the hospital until her health began to significantly decline. She was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure and after an exhausting battle with the disease she finally passed on July 23, 2020.
Nina was always an avid animal lover and understood just how much animals can touch and support people through difficult times. She was very fond of her small dog Dryfus who helped her cope with her husband’s illness and death. After Dryfus passed away she adopted little Tater and significantly helped her daughter Wendy and her husband Robert Archer form Old Paws Rescue, a sanctuary for senior dogs. It was at the ranch where Nina spent her final days relaxing in the hot tub, knitting, and watching the birds and squirrels.
Nina passed from this world very peacefully thanks to the wonderful staff of Hospice Circle of Lovel.
Nina wanted all of her friends and family to remember her life and not her funeral, so she insisted that no service be performed. Instead she would like for everyone to enjoy and appreciate how wonderful life is and how much she enjoyed living.
Instead of flowers Nina asked that people donate to Hospice Circle of Love or Old Paws Rescue Ranch in her name.
Nina was the strongest, Kindest, most enjoyable person and she will be missed.
