Michael Louis Weber

November 13, 1946 ~ August 25, 2019

Michael Louis Weber, MD, loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, died in San Diego on August 25, 2019 after a long battle with cancer. Mike was born on November 13, 1946 in Okeene, Oklahoma to Byron and Joyce Weber. He graduated from Okeene High and attended Northwestern State College. He received his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1972, followed by an internship at Mercy Hospital in San Diego. After residency, he practiced anesthesiology in San Diego for over 30 years. In 2010, he was named one of San Diego’s Top Doctors by San Diego Magazine.

On November 21, 1980, Mike married his beloved wife, Roxanne Leal. They raised two daughters, Mikaela and Samantha. He was a dedicated father and steadfast supporter of his daughters’ athletic, academic, and professional pursuits, remaining a cherished source of advice and encouragement right up to the end.

Mike was an avid golfer, and even while his handicap stayed high, his love for the game never diminished. He also was passionate about photography, sports, travel, the outdoors, and his widely admired succulent garden. He was known for his sharp intellect, his entertaining stories of past adventures, and his ability to cultivate and maintain friendships across all facets of his life.

Mike is survived by his wife, Roxanne, his daughters, Mikaela and husband David Hedley, and Samantha and husband Benjamin Bowen, as well as his grandson Graham Hedley, all of San Diego. He is also survived by his brother Donald Weber of Loveland, CO, his sister Maril Weber of Norman, OK, and his step-sister Cheryl Handley of The Villages, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Gordon Moss.

A Celebration of Life was held on August 30 at The Immaculata at the University of San Diego.
