William Joseph "Bill" Webb was born June 26, 1931, in Braman, Oklahoma, to Franklin and Winnie Endicott Webb. He passed peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 25, 2018.
On October 27, 1951, he married Shirley Morgan of Skiatook and together they raised four children: Bradley William Webb, Guy Henry Webb, Gregory Gilbert Webb and Juli Anna Webb.
After working various jobs such as pipeline, sewing machine salesman and appliance store owner, in 1971 Bill and Shirley began production of Webbcraft boats. They built and sold Webbcraft Boats around the world until 1998.
Bill was quite a presence on Grand Lake racing his boats, hosting dealer meetings and annual 4th of July celebrations, cousins reunions, parties and eventually selling boats at Grand Lake Boats Sales owned by Shirley. Bill made lifelong friends on Grand Lake and loved being a part of lake life.
Bill and Shirley moved back to Collinsville in 2006 and he became an avid gardener—competing for the first tomato of the season or biggest tomato with John Hall and Charles Jackson. He also became part of an early morning coffee clatch which included: John Hall, Charles Jackson, David DeJarnett, Steve Lamar, Junior Belt, Jerry Hawkins and Chuck Unruh. The clatch solved many of the worlds problems while drinking their morning brew.
Shirley passed away on December 7, 2010.
Bill graduated from Vera High School and through reunions and Vera lunches, he reconnected with a classmate who was also a widow, Donna Lyman Wright. They married on February 14, 2014 and made their home in Collinsville.
Bill loved the lake, gardening, his grandchildren, cooking and spending time with his friends of all ages. He hated trying to keep the deer from his garden!
Bill was known for his ability to fall asleep within seconds of sitting down, a trait which began in his 20's, and now he is sleeping soundly in the arms of our Lord.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Morgan Webb, and son, Gregory Gilbert Webb. He is survived by his wife Donna, children-Brad (Cindy), Guy (Pam), Juli (Stephani, grandchildren-Alex Webb, Ashley Powell, Nicole Kamaii, Nathan Webb, and Tyler Webb, great grandchildren-Jacqueline Webb, Mikayla Webb, Hank Powell, Mack Powell, Ross Powell, Michael Mapp, Jacob Mapp, Violet Mapp, Tucker Webb, Daisy Webb and Collin Webb, two sisters-Shirley (Sis) Altmark and Jane Kaufmann, and a host of nieces and nephews.
