T.V. "Vic" Weatherly

T.V. (Vic) Weatherly passed from this world early Wednesday morning at Great Plains Regional Medical Center here in Elk City. Thomas Victor Weatherly was born in Elk City, November 26, 1925 to Ruth (Lydall) Weatherly and Oscar Weatherly.

Vic married Lucille Stinson on April 23, 1949 and made their home in Elk City. The raised four children, Basil, Lawanda, Victor, and Billy. In his teen years he worked as a farmer and ranch-hand. After marrying he started a long career as a mechanic beginning with Galloway Chrysler/Plymouth then moving later to Dan Rudder Ford and Kelly Chevrolet. For ten years he operated his own independent shop on Route 66 known as the Auto Garage. Later he moved downtown to the 66 Motor Company before finishing his career with Runyan Chrysler/Dodge. He was a member of the 2nd and Adams Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two older brothers; Melvin (Punch) Weatherly and Lynn (Speck) Weatherly.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille and his children; Basil Weatherly, Lawanda McCoy and husband, Tom, Victor Weatherly and wife Jeannie, and Billy Weatherly and wife Sherri, nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was lovingly known to his kids, grandkids, and many close friends simply as “Pops.”
