John Howard Watts left for his eternal home with his Lord on February 25, 2008 at the age of 81. He died at the Logan Medical Center, Guthrie, Oklahoma. Memorial services were held at the Smith Memorial Chapel on February 27, 2008 with Dr. Dennis Clark of the First Christian Church officiating.
He was born to Clarence & Esther Watts on December 6, 1926 in Arkansas City, Kansas.
He spent 18 months in the Navy on a troop carrier, the USS Crenshaw at the end of WWII. Then he spent 4 years in the Army stationed in Alaska.
John did mostly interior decorating for a living. He also loved to write poetry, music, play the piano, accordion, violin & mandolin. He also loved to draw cartoons.
John is survived by 1 daughter Terry Nelson of Garden Grove, California a granddaughter Joana Balla & husband Brian and 2 great grand children also of Garden Grove, California. One brother Clarence (Smitty) Watts & wife Shirley, two sisters Mrs. Dorothy Stacy & husband Ray of Guthrie, Ok and Rosemary Witcher and husband Philip of Edmond, Ok and a bundle of nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and grandparents.
Arrangements were under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.
