Ona Belle was born in Braman, Oklahoma, on June 2, 1926, to John and
Fanny Cathey. She graduated from Tonkawa High School on May 25, 1945. She
married Jesse Watson on January 6, 1946. They were married 55 years, until
Jesse preceded her in death on January 4, 2001. Four children were born of
this marriage: Lynn, Nelda, Terry and Cathy.
Her daughter, Cathy also
preceded her in death on January 3, 2013.
Of the three other siblings, six grandchildren came about: Katy, Rachel, Chris, Josh, Edward and Michael. Then came along thirteen great grandchildren.
Ona Belle loved being with her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing board games and cards with them. She loved having her family around at Thanksgiving, Christmas and anytime. She was a wonder mother and even better grandmother.
Ona Belle wasn't a fisherman. Nor did she cook or eat the fish, but she loved the fishing trips. Family reunions at Lake Texoma were one of her favorites and then on to Branson.
She loved being involved at the First Christian Church, where she raised all her children.
She is survived by her son, Lynn and wife Pamela (Lavelle) of Coolidge, Arizona, daughter, Nelda Fry and husband Nevin of Edmond, OK, and son, Terry and his wife, Linda of Oklahoma City, OK. She is also survived by her sisters, Josephine Williams of Tonkawa, OK and Madelyn Williams of Phoenix, Arizona.
Honorary pallbears are Katy Hall, Rachel Vence, Edward Fry, Michael Fry, Chris Watkins and Josh Watson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Make Promises Happen Program, 1 Twin Cedar Lane, Guthrie, OK 73044.
