Ruby Jean (Spears) Wasley
March 21, 1945 ~ June 4, 2018

Ruby Jean Spears Wasley, 72 year old Woodward resident, died Monday, June 4, 2018 in Oklahoma City. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Gene Karn officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date.

Ruby Jean Spears was born March 21, 1945 in Ravenden Springs, Arkansas to Marion Wally and Opal (Wicker) Spears. She grew up in Ravenden Springs and graduated in 1963. She was united in marriage to Thomas A. Wasley in Harlow Essex in the United Kingdom. They made their first home in Laltham Grove, Harlow. In England, Ruby was employed at Cosser Electric. In March of 1985, Ruby with her kids made the big move to Woodward, Oklahoma. Ruby found employment with Radio Shack, where she worked there for many years. Later in the 1990's, Ruby went on to work at G-Mart, where she stayed for many years. 

Ruby enjoyed traveling and gardening and was a song writer. She made beautiful artwork with prints and painting frames. She loved being with her grandchildren. 

She is survived by her husband Thomas A. Wasley of the home; one son, Emlyn Wasley; one daughter Lisa Rohman and husband Steve; one brother Paul Spears and wife Mary; three grandchildren: Kaelyn Carty, Maegan Carty, and Renae Carty; three great-grandchildren, Chloe, Jade, and Daniel; other relatives and friends.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Opal Spears, two brothers, James Spears and J.R. Spears, and one sister Onieda Randall and husband Jim.
