David Lee Washmon
April 21, 1948 ~ October 30, 2024

David Washmon, 76 year old Fargo resident, passed away, October 30, 2024 at home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, November 7, 2024 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel.

David Lee Washmon was born April 21, 1948 in Woodward, Oklahoma to James Dee and Agnes Jeanette (Guyer) Washmon. David grew up in Fort Supply and graduated from Fort Supply High School. He then attended Central State University. David was inducted into the United States Army Reserves in 1967 until he was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1973. He was united into marriage to Susan Latta on June 4, 1967 at the Fort Supply Methodist Church. They then made their home in Edmond, Oklahoma and later moved back to Fort Supply before residing outside of Fargo.

David worked as a Production Foreman in the oil and gas industry, and was highly respected for his knowledge and skills, as well as his hard work ethic. David had a unique ability to make everyone feel like a friend, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and trust. His kindness, warmth, and genuine care for others left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He enjoyed watching OSU Football and he and Susan were season ticket holders for many years. They loved vacationing in the mountains with Red River, New Mexico and Jackson Hole, Wyoming being their favorites. He also loved caring for his cattle and taking extra time to feed and evaluate each one. The thing he loved the most and brought him the most joy was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He served on the Fort Supply School Board for many years and was a member of the API.

David is survived by his wife of 57 years, Susan Washmon; son, Rodney Washmon and Kim Beaner; daughter, Michele Fanning and husband Tom; brother, Tom Latta and wife Linda; sisters, Donna McKay and husband Larry, Cindy Fanning and husband Peter; six grandchildren, Emily (Fanning) Shuping and husband Logan, Jake Fanning and wife Megan, Lane Fanning and wife Emily, Sierra Washmon, Clayton Washmon and Jadyn Washmon; great grandchildren, Jolee and Thomas Fanning, Ellis and Scottie Shuping; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, two brothers and a sister.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Woodward Hope Center with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
