Cynthia (Craig) Wasemiller, beloving referred to as “Honey” by her cherished grandchildren, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 16, 2021 surrounded by her family. Cindy was born on September 7, 1945 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The oldest of two children, Cindy and her younger brother Robert (who she absolutely adored) were raised by their proud parents, Bob and Sue Craig, in Shawnee. She attended Shawnee High School where she wrote the Shawnee fight song and later attended both the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University, thus confusing her kids as to where her allegiance actually was.
Cindy married Jerry Wasemiller in 1972 and raised their three sons, Craig, Tim, and Kevin in Bartlesville and was an active member of the community over the last 50 years.
“Honey” loved spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren, vacationing at the beach, volunteering at countless community events, and watching hundreds of sporting events of her kids and grandchildren. When she wasn’t serving others, Cindy loved to spend time reading books and, according to her kids, wasting time catching up on the latest gossip about the Royal Family.
Cindy was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2019 and bravely fought without much complaint. Cindy was the greatest mom of three, a selfless “Honey” to six grandkids and a friend to more than one could count. She will continue to impact the lives she touched throughout her 75 years on this earth.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Jerry Wasemiller; her three children, Craig Wasemiller and wife Marice Wasemiller (Bartlesville, OK), Tim Wasemiller and wife Kelly Wasemiller (Parker, TX), Kevin Wasemiller and wife Sarah Wasemiller (Fayetteville, AR); her sister-in-law Elaine Craig (Shawnee, OK); her brother and sister in-law Neal and Kari Wasemiller (Edmond, OK); 2 nieces (Callie Craig and Kristen Wasemiller); 3 nephews (Daniel Craig, David Wasemiller and Cole Wasemiller); 6 grandchildren (Kade, Carson, Morgan, Luke, Nash and Jay Wasemiller) and many beloved extended family members.
We will celebrate the life of Cindy Wasemiller on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 10:00 am CT at Bartlesville First Church (4715 Price Road, Bartlesville, OK 74006).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bartlesville Public Schools Foundation (https://bpsfoundation.org/donate/) in memory of our mom who was a pillar of the Bartlesville community and, as such, we feel, as a family, she would want to continue to support as part of her legacy.
