Nadine Ware, of Norman, Oklahoma, crossed over to the other side on February 10, 2023, at age 92. She was born November 19, 1930, in Tangier, Oklahoma, and grew up on a small farm outside of Fargo, Oklahoma. She and her late husband, E.L. Ware, who was the love of her life, were married for 44 years until his death in 1992. They began their life together in Fargo before moving to Gage, Oklahoma, in 1951, and again to Woodward, Oklahoma, in the fall of 1956. Nadine worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Wilbur Whiteneck until his retirement, and then worked as bookkeeper at E.L.’s lumberyard, Starr Lumber, where she remained until she moved to Norman in 2007.
Nadine loved to keep herself busy. She was a seamstress and made a lot of her daughter, Ann’s, clothes. She also liked to bake and always found time to exercise, which she enjoyed very much. She and E.L. also really enjoyed the company of their friends in Woodward, holding many dinner parties, pool parties, and dancing at the dance club they belonged to. After retiring and moving to Norman, she still kept her own books and enjoyed keeping busy in her home office. She and her friend, Grant Irwin, Sr., became partners in 2000. While together, they enjoyed traveling to various places around the world and spending time in Haines, Alaska, where Grant also has a house.
She had style, class, grace, and was very generous. She was beautiful inside and out, and will be missed by all who knew her.
Nadine is survived by son, Terry Ware and his wife Jeannie of Norman; and daughter, Ann Friedman and her husband Mitch of Avon, Connecticut.
Nadine requested there not be a funeral. If so wished, memorials may be made in her name to the charity of your choice.
