Karen Sue (Miller) Ware passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on Friday, March 4th 2022.
Born in Emporia Kansas on December 5, 1946, she spent her early years playing with her two younger brothers before the family moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma in the summer of 1956, where her sister was later born. Her favorite hobby as a child never changed, as it was still her favorite before her passing… spending time with her friends.
She graduated high school at College High in Bartlesville, Oklahoma in 1964. Then she began her professional career as an Administrative Assistant for Phillips 66, which spanned several departments to include Aviation, Legal and Human Resources. In 2009 she retired with 32 years of dedicated and faithful service.
While working for Phillips 66, she met and spent the rest of her life with her true love and soulmate, Bob Pomeroy. For over 27 years, they took to the road and sky to share what they loved most, traveling. She just loved to visit friends, family, and see it all. Some of her favorite destinations included Palm Springs, Maui, Key West, and Cancun. She loved to do anything outdoors where she could soak up the warm sun. Tennis and golf were among her favorite sports to play.
In retirement she kept hard at work with numerous charities and fundraising efforts including: Boy Scouts Golf Tournament, Samaritan Counseling & Growth Center, Sports Spectacular, Daughters of Lot, Member of First Baptist Church, Member of Bartlesville Sports Commission, and Great American Conference Basketball Championships. She absolutely loved to help people and contribute to the success of everyone she met.
Karen’s favorite flower was the sunflower, which very much reflected the
warmth she always carried in her heart. She loved the Lord and truly
believed that He was in charge of all things. She used this faith to help
her get through life’s struggles and conflicts. Her favorite bible verse was
Mark 12:30 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your
soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” And her favorite
quote was “The will of God never takes you to where the Grace of God will
not protect you”
She was preceded in death by her parents Donald Eugene
Miller and Elizabeth Louise “Lou” (Martin) Miller, and the father of her two
sons, Leroy David Loveland.
She is survived by her 3 siblings, Rick Miller (Dianna), Mike Miller (Vickey), and Linda Reddout (David); 2 sons, Jason Loveland (Tonya) and Robert Loveland (Hope); and 6 grandchildren, Carson Owens, Hayden Loveland, Joseph Maranto, Cole Loveland, Michael Galm, and Luke Loveland. They loved and adored their Nana. Her family was the sunshine of her life and no matter how long or short a visit or conversation, nothing put a bigger smile on her face.
A celebration of her life will be held at First Baptist Church, 405 S.E. Cherokee Blvd, Bartlesville Oklahoma 74003 on Friday, March 18th at 1:00pm
