Lena A. (Sawyers) Wardlow

February 10, 1908 ~ Sept. 17, 2005

Chapel Services for Lena A. Wardlow will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2005, at Hillcrest Mortuary. Visitation will be Tuesday 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Lena A. Wardlow was born on February 10, 1908 in Alva, Oklahoma to Terry and Maude Sawyers and passed away on Sept. 17, 2005 in Bakersfield. In 1926, she married James Wardlow in Fairfax, Okla. Their union produced twin sons Donald and Dewey Wardlow, in 1941 the family moved to Bakersfield, Ca, she and James were married 59 years prior to his death in 1985. They were both members of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 125 of Bakersfield.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son, numerous brothers, sisters, two grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

Survivors are her son, Donald and his wife, Sara; 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Pleasant Care Convalescent Home of Bakersfield for their loving care of Lena for the past eight years.
