Michael W. Ward, 61, died Monday, May 20, from a battle with cancer.
Michael was born to Lester and Rhoda Ward in Tulsa on December 4, 1957. He graduated from Bixby High School in 1976, and Oklahoma State University in 1980. Michael and his father, Lester, were co-owners of Ward’s Air Conditioning up until his father retired in 2001 when Michael became the sole owner. He and his brother Greg Ward have worked the business together up until Michael’s death.
On May 15, 1989, Michael married his wife of 30 years, Terri Ward. They have two children and four grandsons.
Michael is survived by his wife, Terri, of the home, stepson, Jaden Worley, daughter, Kelsey Ward and grandsons, Van Edmonds, Dylan and Colton Scott, and Jett Worley, all of Ponca City. He is also survived by his parents, Lester and Rhoda Ward, of Ponca City; brother Greg Ward (and wife Linda) of Ponca City; sister Debbie Fleming (and husband Paul) of Dallas; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Loyd and Ethel Ward and Clyde and Fern Bell; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Virgil and Corky Davis.
A Celebration of Life to honor Michael’s memory will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2019, 2:00 p.m. at the PC Life Church, 1300 W. Grand, Ponca City, Oklahoma. We are asking everybody to please come join us in celebrating Michael’s life and dress casual, his golfing buddies come in golf clothes, etc. This is exactly what Michael would want.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations in memory of Michael to Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, 445 Fairview Ave., Ponca City, Oklahoma 74601. Michael's arrangements have been entrusted to Trout Funeral Home and Crematory. Condolences may be made at www.troutfuneralhome.com
