Mona Kay Ward, 88, of Kingston, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, September 7, 2025. She was born on June 4, 1937, to the late Wayne C. Beanblossom and Lavaun Opal Reed Beanblossom in Burr Oak, Kansas. Mona grew up in Burr Oak, Kansas and graduated from Woodston High School in 1954. She went on to attend business college, where she earned her associate’s degree in business.
On December 31, 1957, she married William “Bill” Howard Ward, in Corvallis, Oregon and together they shared 62 years of marriage until his passing on October 3, 2020. Their life together took them to Springfield, Oregon then Taylorsville, Mississippi and Myrtle Creek, Oregon, before they eventually settled at Oakview on Lake Texoma in 1990.
Mona and Bill worked side by side as owners and operators of Moe’s Diner and Bill’s Lakeside.
Mona enjoyed making Christmas candies, homemade jellies, and jams for her family and friends. She loved traveling, but more than anything, her heart belonged to her children and grandchildren. She treasured every moment spent with her family and leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and sweet memories.

Travis, Jodi, Ben, and Brianna
32 great-grandchildren 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Brother: Jim Beanblossom, and wife Susan of Oregon.
