Mr. Karl Wayne Ward, 72, of Ochelata, died peacefully at 10:14 A.M. on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at the Clarehouse in Tulsa after a year long illness.
In keeping with Mr. Ward's wishes, private services will be held at a later date and cremation arrangements were under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
The family requests that memorial donations be sent to the Ochelata Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 118, Ochelata, Oklahoma, 74051 or to the to the Clarehouse, 7617 S. Mingo Road, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74133
Mr. Ward was born December 18, 1943 at Ramona, Oklahoma the son of Willis H. Ward and Vivian V. (Adcock) Ward. Karl grew up in Bartlesville and graduated from College High School in 1961. Karl then attended Coffeyville Junior College from 1961 until he graduated in 1963. Karl was married to Kaaren Sligar in 1962. Karl attended Oklahoma State University from 1963 until he and Kaaren moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1964. Karl graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1973 and returned to Bartlesville where Karl worked for Applied Automation. Karl married Lynda Gullane in 1988 and they moved to Texas in 1988 until their return to Ochelata. Karl retired in 2011
Survivors include three children, one son Kevin Ward and his wife Renee of Ramona, two daughters Kim Kimrey and her husband Brian of Bartlesville and Kristi Dugan and her husband Eric of Seattle , Washington. Karl has nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Karl was preceded in death by his parents and both brothers Dennis and Curt and his wife Lynda.
