Charles Edward Ward, Sr of 352 NW 52nd Street, was born Thursday, July 2, 1955 at 8:22pm in Richland County, South Carolina. He was the son of Teddy Brown and the late mother Louise Ward. He ascended to his heavenly father on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 9:26am. A visitation will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 4pm-8pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 11:00am at Friendship Baptist Church, Lawton. Arrangements are under direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service.
Charles graduated from Lower Richland High School. He extended his education at Benedict Community College. He served in the Army from April 5, 1978 to December 21, 1992. He fulfilled his childhood dream and became a truck driver from the spring of 1993 to the summer of 1998. He also worked at Republic Paperboard for 17 years. He was a passionate and faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church, as he was Treasurer of the Deacon Board and President of the Usher Board. Charles is preceded in death by daughter, Rachel G. Ward, 15 aunts, 1 uncle and a plethora of cousins.
Survivors include his son, Charles E. Ward, Sr of Tulsa; daughter, Bri'Asia Marie Ward of Lawton; daughter-in-law, Teirra Ward of Tulsa; grandsons, Charles E. Ward III and Chase E. Ward, both of Tulsa; granddaughter, CaiE'lani Wenice-Leialoha Ward of Tulsa; grandson, Jovion Ward Murray of Sierra Vista, AZ; granddaughter, Leilah Ward Beasley of Norfolk, VA; sisters, Doretha Ward Wilson and spouse and Claudia Ward Smith, all of Columbia, SC; nieces: Sylvia Ward, Monica Ward Wilson, Lolitta Ward Robinson, Kenyatta Ward Wilson, Jammie Ward Wilson, Erica Ward Penn, Keitra Ward Smith and Yolanda Ward Holmes, all of Columbia, SC; nephew, Tony Ward Wilson of Columbia, SC; first spouse, Connielynn Watson and husband Kenneth of Midway, GA; second spouse, Linda Ward of Lawton; step children, Jeremy Shoemaker and Nikki Craft of Lawton; close friend, Tera Martin of Frederick; and numerous loving cousins, relatives, friends, co-workers and associates.
