Toshiko "Tosh" (Suma) Wano

Toshiko "Tosh" (Suma) Wano
January 15, 1933 ~ December 11, 2013

Toshiko Wano nee Suma was born January 15th, 1933 in Yokohama, Japan, where she resided until her marriage to Max Wano in 1957; they later relocated to the Shawnee, Oklahoma in 1959, where they lived briefly before settling in Oklahoma City in 1964.

Tosh, as she was known by all of her friends, was a devoted wife to Max, and mother to sons Roy and Kerry.

She loved jewelry making, puzzles, sewing, fishing, astronomy, nature, and cooking for her family and friends. She was known for her gracious and loving spirit, was a joy to be around, and could always make you laugh. She was active with the children"s program at her church, helped with NERA"s traveling flag at athletic gatherings, and rode with the naval float in parades. Tosh"s final days were spent surrounded by her family and friends, and she passed in her sleep with her husband at her side on Tuesday, December 10, 2013.

She is survived by her husband, Max Wano, son Roy Wano and wife Betty of Shawnee, Oklahoma, son Kerry Wano and his wife Mary of Kansas City, Missouri, her grandchildren Crystal Wano, Ashley Wano-Creekpaum, and Brittany Wano, and three great-grandchildren, Riley and Jesslyn Creekpaum, Charlie Wano, and a brother, Takuya Suma, of Japan.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made out to the Salvation Army.
