Mary Ann (Spornitz) Walls

Mary Ann (Spornitz) Walls, age 84, a resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on January 19, 2014 at her home. Mary Ann was born on August 27, 1929 in Corsicana, Texas. She was the daughter of Carl Julius Spornitz and Jewel Celine (Rone) Spornitz. She received her early education in Texas and attended Corsicana Jr. College for 1-1/2 years, where the clock tower bears her name.

In 1967, Mary Ann and Clyde Eugene Walls were united in marriage in Houston, Texas. She worked as a Clerk/Sales Manager for J.C. Penny Co. in Abilene, for many years, retiring in 2003. Mary Ann and her husband travelled and lived overseas and during that time, she was a housewife. He preceded her in death in 2009.

In 2010, Mary Ann moved from Texas to Bartlesville to be near family. She attended East Cross United Methodist Church, Bartlesville. She was a member of the Bartlesville Newcomers' Club, Mahjong Club, a Bunko Group and was a former member of Senior Citizens Bridge Club. She especially loved to play bridge. Lifelong, she was a social person with many friends and she loved her time spent living overseas in Egypt, Libya, England and Amsterdam.

Survivors include her daughter, Karla Hill and her husband, Clarence, of Bartlesville; sons, John Hall also of Bartlesville, Joe Hall and his wife, Lisa, of LaPorte, Texas, and Rock E. Walls of Houston, Texas; 11 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and sister Martha Hammock of Longmont, Colorado She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde in 2009; son, Ray Eugene; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Nancy Sue Davies and Peggy June Usery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Mary Ann's memory, may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 6600 S. Yale Ave., Suite 700, Tulsa, OK 74136.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25, at 10:00 AM in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home Chapel, 710 S. Dewey Ave. Pastor Chad Perciful, Associate Pastor, East Cross United Methodist Church, will officiate. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, Bartlesville. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
