Dennis Alan Wallace, age 75 of Wanette, Oklahoma passed away on December 14, 2023. Dennis was born on June 27th, 1948, in Oklahoma City to John Henry Wallace and Sally Matilda (Lankford)Wallace. He was the 3rd of 4 children.
Dennis graduated from Wanette High School in 1966. He spent a year working for Boeing Aircraft in Seattle, Washington before enlisting in the Navy.
While Dennis was stationed at PAX River, Maryland, he was set up on a blind date with a sophomore from St. Mary’s College, Sandra Lyn Bartlett.
Dennis and Sandy fell in love and were married on June 13th, 1970, in Annapolis Maryland. After Sandy graduated, the newlyweds moved to Dennis’ home state, Oklahoma.
Dennis decided to take some classes at OSU to further his education.
In 1972 Dennis started working at Westinghouse/York and remained there as a supervisor for over 27 years. He then became a compliance officer for the State of Oklahoma Department of Central Services. Dennis worked hard throughout his life.
After retirement he enjoyed spending time with family, working in his yard and going antiquing.
Dennis at times had a sarcastic and goofy sense of humor. He was quite skilled at woodworking and created Native American Flutes. He enjoyed maintaining the yard and earned the nickname “The mad mower.”
He was Sandy’s #1 fan. Always supportive and encouraging in all she did.
He loved and was loved deeply by his family and friends, and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Sally Wallace; sister, Darlene Jeanette Wallace; and brother Larry Wallace.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Sandy Wallace of the home; daughters, Jennifer Frank and husband Marty of Purcell, Christina Stockdale and husband Isaac of Lexington; brother David Wallace and wife Brenda of Wanette; and sister-in-law Linda Wallace of Guthrie. 5 Grandchildren, Tyler Stockdale, John Stockdale, Jesse Stockdale, Kyle Frank, Kimberly Frank, and a host of other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2 o’clock Friday December 22, 2023, at Little’s Chapel, Wilson-Little Purcell.
