Walker, Julia Myra, 92, Midwest City died Thursday August 5th 2010. She was born on February 22, 1918 in Oklahoma City, Ok to Paul Atlee and Myra E. Walker. She moved to Washington D.C. with her family in 1934. She graduated from high school and attended George Washington University where she became a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority in which she continued her membership after graduating with a B.S. in home economics in 1940.
She worked for the federal government for 8 years. When her father retired and her parents decided to move back to Norman, OK, Julia decided to move with them. She enrolled in graduate classes at O.U. in the school of journalism, later writing articles for newspapers and magazines.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents, sister Virginia Norton, two brothers Paul Walker Jr. and Robert Walker.
Julia is survived by two sisters-in-law, Emily Walker of Tulsa and Nancy Walker of Midwest City. She leaves behind two nephews: Paul Walker III and Robert Walker Jr. and five nieces: Laurie Nash, Leslie Walker, Margaret Ann Walker, Nancy McElveen, and Susie Cullins.
