John F. Walker
March 14, 1944 ~ November 5, 2015

John F. Walker was born March 14, 1944 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Mary Jo (Fleming) and Andrew Jerome Walker, II. He passed away November 5, 2015 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 71 years, 7 months and 21 days.

John grew up in Oklahoma City and attended Putnam City Schools. After his graduation in 1963, he furthered his education at Oklahoma State University obtaining his associates degree in construction management. After graduation he worked for Conoco where he oversaw the construction of many of the filling stations in Oklahoma and Texas. He returned to Oklahoma City where he began working for Holt Pump and Supply. John eventually purchased Holt Pump and Supply in the early 70's and continued to operate it until the late 80's when he semi-retired. He became an independent contractor and started architectural inspections and specialized in roofing systems. In 1990, while on a job for Elk City Schools, he was introduced to Mary Suzanne Curtis. After four years of dating, they were married in Elk City, Oklahoma on May 21, 1994. After their marriage, they made Elk City their home where they built their life together. John enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, coffee with his buddies, playing with and bragging about his grandchildren and caring for his dog, Holly.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Andrew Jerome Walker, III.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne, of the home; 5 children, David Walker and wife, Gloria, Knoxville, TN, Amy Pratt and husband, James, Oklahoma City, OK, Beth Scott and husband, Steve, Yukon, OK, Rayna Curtis-Maloy, Oklahoma City, OK, Gina Curtis, Elk City, OK; his mother, Mary Jo Walker, Elk City, OK; 14 grandchild, Fatima, Brayden, Ethan, Bradley, Emily, Macy, Mikayla, Sydney, Alayna, Mady, Allison, Maggie, Mason and Max, 1 sister, Linda Cullers and husband, Randy, Nashville, TX; 1 brother, Steven Walker and wife, Judy, West Mooreland, TN; and many other friends and relatives.

Memorial donations can be made to the Elk City 1st Presbyterian Church Education Fund in John Walkers name.
