June (Chapman) Walker
March 10, 1920 ~ February 17, 2018

June Walker passed away February 17, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018 in the Walker-Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Services are under the direction of Walker-Brown Funeral Home.

June Walker, 97, of Bartlesville, was born in Elk City, Kansas to Harley Bryan Chapman and Dorothy Button on March 10, 1920. June lived in Altoona, KS, Wichita, KS and Coffeyville, KS before moving to Oklahoma with her husband, Joseph F. Walker Sr. in 1953. June and Joe were married for over 6 decades and raised 4 children together. June as a devoted and loving wife and mother. She was an active volunteer for the public schools and Meals on Wheels, as well as animal rescue groups and the Tulsa Unitarian Church. June loved to read a variety of books, adored live theatre, and traveled extensively in the US and Europe with Joe.

June is survived by her children: Joe Walker Jr. (Judy), Fidelis Choate, Jeanne A. Hill (Allen), daughter-in-law Tanja Walker, and her dear friend and caregiver, Nancy Duffield, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her son, Mark B. Walker, her son-in-law, Dr. Jerry R. Choate, and granddaughter, Katharine Sun Hill.
