Billie June Walker, 89-year-old resident of Vinita, passed away late Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the Heartsworth Nursing Center. She was born on June 13, 1935, in Welch to Carl and Hazel Tiny (Hency) Schenk. Billie was a graduate of Bluejacket High School. She had worked at Country Lane boarding home as a cook for a time. Billie was a very active member of the Vinita Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Everett Walker, and her parents.
The family includes her children, Ron Nigh of Ketchum, Steve Nigh of Muskogee, and Karen Elderfield of Vinita, grandchildren, Levi Nigh, Terri Grimes, Tommy Lemons, and Dalton Lemons.
Services will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 536 N Scraper St, Vinita, OK. Arrangements are in the care of Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral and Cremation Services of Vinita. “Vinita’s only locally owned and operated funeral home.”
