Louis J. Walenta
May 15, 1924 ~ June 30, 2006

Louis J. Walenta, age 82, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2006.

He was born on May 15, 1924 on his parents farm in north Prague, Oklahoma.

He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a Corporal with the 22nd Marine Regiment, Sixth Marine Division in Wolrd War II. He was awarded the Bronze Star on January 31, 1945 and a Purple Heart.

He was a long time resident of the Oklahoma City area. In his later years he resided in Salina and Chouteau Oklahoma. Louis was employed by Swanda Brothers for 26 years. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Association. He retired at the age of 58.

Louis is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Delora Fennel; and wife Naomi; brothers, Raymond, Herman and George.

He is survived by daughter and son in law, Karen and Larry Burris of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Kim Machalec of Katy, Texas; Scott Burris and wife Julie of Houston, Texas; and great grandchildren, Logan Machalec and Nathanael Burris.

His favorite past time was fishing and he enjoyed designing and building his own house.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague.
