Carrie Lynn Waldman, 52, departed this life to be with Jesus on the 12th of September, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Carrie was surrounded by her family when she departed this life.
Carrie was born October 19, 1964 to John and Lynda (Hill) Killingsworth in Muskogee, OK. Carrie was the oldest of three siblings. Carrie grew up in Stroud, OK and graduated from Stroud High School in 1982 along with many of her life-long friends. During her school years, Carrie was active in cheerleading and supporting her Stroud Tigers. Some of her favorite classes included journalism and French; and she enjoyed the opportunity to practice French language skills throughout her life.
In 1982, Carrie married the love of her life, Wade Waldman; and they celebrated their 35th anniversary on September 11th. Carrie and Wade went on to have five beautiful daughters and four precious grandchildren whom she cherished. Carrie was a strong Christian who lived her faith daily and shared the truth of Jesus openly. Carrie's family was her life and her family was an important source of strength and joy throughout her life.
Carrie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chandler, OK and a member of the Chandler Chamber of Commerce. At the time of her passing, Carrie was the Manager of Sharpe's Department Store in Chandler, OK for 16 years. Prior to her managerial position, Carrie worked at Sharpe's in Chandler along with her parents. Carrie was a vibrant woman who was loved by many. Carrie's smile was infectious and she made friends wherever she went. Carrie did not meet a stranger. She was doing what she loved and many people came in to the store just to see her and have Carrie help them personally. Carrie was one of a kind who made each person feel like they were the most special person. She loved fashion and she loved people.
Carrie was preceded in death by maternal and paternal grandparents; and father-in-law, John Earl Waldman. Carrie is survived by her beloved husband of 35 years, Wade Waldman. Others left to cherish her memory include five beautiful daughters: Heather Palmer and husband, Justin of Chandler, OK; Brittani Mascho and husband, Derek of Glenpool, OK; Michelle Waldman of Chandler, OK; Ashley Benedict and husband, Zachary of Tulsa, OK; and Kristen Waldman of Chandler, OK; four grandchildren, Isabella and Connor Palmer; and Jace and Jillian Mascho; parents, John and Lynda Killingsworth of Chandler, OK, mother-in-law, Joni Waldman of Chandler, OK; sister, Robin Killingsworth of Dallas, TX; and brother, John Killingsworth and wife, Lisa of Tulsa, OK; brothers-in-law, Brett Waldman and wife, Susan; and Len Waldman of Chandler, OK; sister-in-law, Traci Waldman of Minneapolis, MN; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Carrie will be greatly missed by all.
A celebration of Carrie's life will be held at 11:00am Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Chandler, OK with Rev. Rick Blackwell officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Chandler, OK.
